Blogger's Bash Is A Great Success: Mike Huckabee And Chuck Norris Thank Over 700 Bloggers Supporting His Campaign

The "Stuck On Huck - Blogger's Bash" was a great success kicking off the New Year for the Huckabee campaign on Tuesday.  Governor Huckabee and Chuck Norris addressed bloggers in Des Moines Iowa, representing over 700 bloggers that support the republican candidate.  Bloggers from other states including Indiana, Florida and Alabama also attending the invitation-only event.

Our very own Dave Davidson from StuckonHuck.com was instrumental in working with the Iowa Huckabee campaign in helping to concept the idea for the event, including hosting the site at BloggersBash.com.  Dave has followed the Huckabee campaign in Iowa as a volunteer professional photographer and announced his creation of "Huckisms" - inspiring quotes by and about Mike Huckabee coupled with artjournalism photography.  This is a new free resource for bloggers available at Huckisms.com.

The Blogger's Bash featured a tour of the Iowa campaign headquarters, a blogger's meet and greet session with Huckabee and Norris as well as a nationwide blogger's conference call.  Below are two stories about the Blogger's Bash:

New York Times - Huckabee Thanks Bloggers

At one point, Chuck Norris, Mr. Huckabee’s most famous supporter, wandered into the small meeting room where the event was being held. Mr. Norris, the martial artist and action actor, confessed to being “computer illiterate” himself, but thanked the bloggers for getting him and Mr. Huckabee together.

Mr. Norris proposed holding a fundraiser for Mr. Huckabee with a “virtual barbeque” at his Texas ranch on Jan. 20. He said he would take the blogosphere on a virtual tour of the ranch, including his 2,000-square-foot gym, and perhaps Mr. Huckabee would sing with his band. One blogger (Dave Davidson from StuckonHuck.com) proposed that all bloggers hold actual barbeques in their home towns at the same time to raise money. The bloggers applauded their approval.

“Pork across America!” Mr. Huckabee proclaimed.

StuckonHuck.com is already working with the Huckabee campaign and Chuck Norris on ideas for the "virtual barbecue.  We have set up an initial information website at ChucksBarbecue.com.

Huckabee's "Secret Weapon" -- Bloggers in Iowa

The greatest secret weapon we have is over 700 dedicated bloggers to get our message out to people," said Huckabee.  . "We don't have the kind of money that other campaigns have," he explained, "a lot of the reason is because of the 700 bloggers out there pounding away on their keyboards and hitting the send button and making magic happen."

The Los Angeles Times covered the Blogger's Bash event on Tuesday and quoted StuckonHuck.com's Dave Davidson in their story.
